It's Lib Dem or Labour in Lee Green
Labour have run Lewisham as a one-party state for too long. We need local councillors who give residents their voice back.
The Liberal Democrats closed the gap on Labour in 2022 while the Conservatives and Green Party went backwards.
Local candidates, James Foulkes, Lizzie Fox and Josh Mitte are working hard to make sure we win for Lee Green on Thursday May 7th.

Fly-tipping
Lewisham has the third-highest rate of illegal rubbish dumping in the country. Labour promised to get tough in their last manifesto, but the problem has just got worse.
Your Lib Dem team is petitioning for a whole new approach, with increased enforcement, extended opening hours at Landsmann way waste centre and regular Community Skip Days to make it easier and cheaper to dispose of bulky waste. These measures and more have been successfully used by Lib Dem councils elsewhere in London where fly-tipping rates are much lower.

Leegate Development
Lib Dems want a regeneration plan that is right for our area.
Liberal Democrats support regeneration, genuine social rent homes and better public spaces. But we will push for development that properly supports our local services.
Current plans for Leegate include 620 new homes, with a very welcome 261 affordable homes (46%), of which 149 are social rent.
However, the scheme would also include buildings up to 17 storeys high, completely out of step with the scale of the surrounding area.
Residents and local groups are worried about pressure on GPs, schools and infrastructure. The area will also need significant investment in transport, as there are already problems with traffic around the busy Lee Green crossroads.
Lib Dems will fight for a regeneration that works for the whole community - not just the developer.
Neighbourhood Policing
The Liberal Democrats are calling for a return to proper community policing - putting bobbies back on the beat and trusted police counters back in our neighbourhoods.
Since 2015, Conservative cuts have seen police desks in London slashed by 52%, leaving communities less safe and more isolated.
This year, Labour Mayor Sadiq Khan broke his promise to keep at least 32 24/7 police front counters open in London, leaving only two 24/7 counters left for the whole of London. Lib Dems are leading the charge for a police counter in every community, restoring the visible, trusted presence that people want and deserve.
Local campaigner Josh Mitte said, “People in Lee Green deserve to feel safe and confident that the police are there when they need them.
“That means proper community policing - with more bobbies on the beat and a police counter in every neighbourhood.”
The Liberal Democrat plan to bring back neighbourhood policing would see more community police on our streets, reversing the damaging PCSO cuts, and a trusted police counter in every community. The Liberal Democrats are calling for a return to proper community policing - putting bobbies back on the beat and trusted police counters back in our neighbourhoods.
