Jean Branch for Lewisham North and Deptford

I grew up in New Cross. I worked in the music industry and radio for 15 years. When I had children I retrained to become a complementary therapist. In 2019 I started working as a carer and did so throughout the pandemic until 2021. I am now self employed as a complementary therapist and work one day a week in a healthcare business in Blackheath.

I love the sense of community in South-East London and have lived in Ladywell with my husband, 3 children and dog, for over 20 years.

I volunteered for the Pre-school Learning Alliance when my children were at nursery, I then became a school governor and chair of governors at Gordonbrock & Eliot Bank for 11 years and have been a co-ordinating member of my ward assembly in Ladywell for over a decade.

I believe we need the people who represent us in government to know the people and the place they represent; it is their job to get their residents’ voices heard.

Thank you.
