Join us and our guest speaker, TV writer Emma Kennedy, for an evening of political satire, jokes and belly-aching humour!

Emma is a British author, TV writer, actress, and presenter, known for her role in the award-winning comedy Goodness Gracious Me, winning Celebrity MasterChef in 2012, and her appearances in shows like People Like Us and Miranda. 

She has been a member of the Liberal Democrats since 2010, was fiercely anti-Brexit, and is now a Surrey Parish Councillor. 

Not for the faint-hearted, she has very rude jokes about Michael Gove!

Our friends at Veer Dhara have given us exclusive use of the venue to enjoy a welcome drink, a 5-course banquet, and unlimited soft drinks throughout the evening.  We'll have our wonderful Lib Dem auction and raffle, and if time allows, post-dinner dancing.

It’s going to be a night of food, fun, friendship and fundraising.

The AGM provides an essential opportunity for members to receive annual reports from the Executive Committee and to pose any questions. A key purpose of the meeting will be the election of Officers for the upcoming year, with terms commencing 1st January 2026. 

We are also delighted to announce that Ed Lucas will be joining us as a guest speaker at the AGM. Ed will be known by many for his regular column in The Times and for his regular appearances on the BBC’s Today and Newsnight programmes. Formerly a senior editor at The Economist, he is now a senior advisor at the Center for European Policy Analysis, and was a Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate during the 2024 General Election. His extensive expertise includes energy, cyber-security, espionage, information warfare and Russian foreign and security policy, so his talk will be fascinating to anyone with an interest in politics.
