A great chance to hear a leading scientist in the field talk about a subject of great interest to us all!

Professor Tim Palmer has spent much of his career working on the predictability and dynamics of weather and Climate. Tim’s talk will explore how the geometry of chaos can explain our uncertain world, in particular climate change.

Tim speaks widely around the world, and is a rare scientist who can make complex science interesting and understandable!

Join the Ealing Liberal Democrats for our next Action Day in Ealing Common on Saturday, 7 March 2026.

Nearest Station to HQ for the day is Ealing Common (5 minutes).

At 10:30am, we will have a big group photo outside Councillor Connie Hersch's house before we set off.

At 1pm, we will have light lunch and refreshments at Councillor Connie Hersch's house.

There is a social at the end of the day from 4pm (pub location TBC) and the Ealing Lib Dems will provide 1 free drink (non-alcoholic for under 18s) at the pub.

Join Merton Lib Dems in the marginal ward of Cannon Hill. All three main parties will be contesting this ward which elected one Lib Dem councillor and 2 Conservatives - including their leader.

Day of door knocking and delivery.

Morning session - 10am - 12.30pm 

Afternoon session - 1.30pm - 4pm

We shall be having lunch from 12.30-1.30pm at Costa at Wimbledon Chase. For the afternoon session meet at 1.30pm at Costa, Wimbledon Chase, Kingston Road, SW20 8JX.

There’s only one way to make sure we win at the district council local elections in May, and that’s to get out, speak to voters and secure their commitment to the Liberal Democrats.

Our candidates, Josie Madoc (Clarence) and Sean Hughes (St Peter’s) would love to have you on side this Saturday at 9 Hatfield Road from 10:20 for our team photo with Daisy Cooper MP, followed by canvassing and leaflet delivery.

Please come along if you are an experienced canvasser, a keen new volunteer with a smart phone, or a hardy deliverer. If you have strong coordination skills, we would love to meet you too as we will need more help during the rest of the campaign.

We will be holding briefing slots at 10:30, 12:00 and 14:00 and we welcome drop-ins at any time as well. You are also invited to join us for a light lunch after the morning session.

We need:
• Experienced canvassers
• Potential new canvassers with smart phones
• Leaflet deliverers
• Volunteers who can offer strong coordination skills

Every leaflet delivered and every conversation counts, whether you’re experienced or brand new, there’s a role for you.

As part of their commitment to listening to and working with local residents, Tim Prater and Gary Fuller, Lib Dem District Councillors for Sandgate and West Folkestone, hold regular drop-in advice surgeries in the ward each month.

No need for an appointment - just turn up to discuss any issue you would like our help with. The surgeries are in a public place: if you'd prefer to speak to Tim or Gary one-to-one then please contact them directly and we can set up a personal meeting with you.
