Lib Dems see biggest increase in vote at General Election

Thank you to everyone who voted Liberal Democrat on 12th December. The Liberal Democrats saw the biggest increase in vote of any party across Lewisham.

Our vote increased by 5.1% in Lewisham Deptford, by 5.8% in Lewisham West & Penge and by 6.8% in Lewisham East. Both Labour and the Conservatives saw their votes fall.

Across London the Lib Dem vote was up by 6.1% with Labour and Conservatives falling, by 6.4% and 1.1% respectively.

We’re now looking forward to making the case for a Liberal London in the London Mayoral and London Assembly elections in May 2019, with our excellent candidate for London Mayor Siobhan Benita and London Assembly candidate Ade Fatukasi (pictured above).

Although the national results were disappointing in terms of seats, the Liberal Democrats saw the biggest increase in vote of any party across the country. 1.3 million more people voted Liberal Democrat than they did at 2017 General Election.

Thanks again to everyone who voted Lib Dem in Lewisham on 12th December and thanks to our scores of volunteers. If you would like to help out in the forthcoming London-wide election, let us know.
