We are delighted to announce that Bill Town, a long-term Lewisham resident, community campaigner and small business owner has been selected as our candidate in the Evelyn by-election.

Dr Bill Town has had a distinguished career as a research chemist, more recently working on a scientific publishing project and developing a web community for chemists.

He currently runs a small company, Kilmorie Clarke Ltd, which has offices in Lewisham and Lambeth and he is also Chair of the Trustees for Family Services UK, a charity which offers counselling support to individuals and families and which is based in Creek Road, Deptford. FSUK has also run a number of parenting classes in local Lewisham schools.

Bill is relishing the chance to fight this by-election in a seat deserted by yet another absent Labour councillor and is keen to give the people of Evelyn the sort of dedicated support at Council that they deserve. Bill strongly supports the calls for former councillor Joseph Folorunso to pay back his £10,000 council allowance – claimed despite being on another continent for most of the last six months – to the Save Lewisham A&E Fighting Fund.
